Learn with Lolonyo (LWL) was founded by Vivean Pomell, an educator with over 30 years’ experience in early years education. Holding both a BA and MA in Education, professional qualifications in Childcare and Social Work, and having served as a former Ofsted inspector, Vivean has built her career on delivering high-quality, culturally inclusive education that supports every child’s development and well-being.
LWL was created in 2020 when families sought educational support during lockdown. While developing home learning resources, Vivean recognised a significant gap in culturally inclusive materials that reflected the diverse identities and lived experiences of the children she had worked with throughout her career. Understanding that representation strengthens confidence, belonging and academic success, she began creating her own culturally responsive resources.
Today, LWL is a growing educational brand producing storybooks, workbooks, flashcards, journals, posters and puzzles designed for children across the Early Years Foundation Stage (0–5) and National Curriculum (5–16). Each resource supports academic progress, emotional resilience and identity development.
Guided by the mantra “From Baby Steps to Brilliance,” LWL blends education, mental well-being and cultural representation to empower confident, capable and culturally aware learners.
LWL is proud to be stocked by leading national and international retailers, including Waterstones, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and Afrori Books. Being available through these respected platforms reflects the growing demand for culturally inclusive, high-quality educational resources and allows families, schools, and community organisations wider access to materials that celebrate representation, identity, and meaningful learning.

Our Ethos
At LWL, our ethos centres on nurturing the whole child. We believe education should go beyond formal lessons to reflect how children naturally learn, grow and understand the world.
Our resources support language, numeracy, curiosity and problem-solving while strengthening personal, social and emotional development. By embedding cultural awareness and inclusive narratives, we foster empathy, confidence and a strong sense of identity alongside academic progress.
Aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum (5–16), our holistic approach also responds to inclusive curricula, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision and mental well-being priorities. Guided by our mantra, “From Baby Steps to Brilliance,” we create culturally responsive resources that help children feel seen, valued and empowered to thrive in education and in life.
